Special levels are more dangerous but more rewarding. In both cases, the final boss is found on the 4th level.Įach side branch has a purple lift on its final level which leads to an optional "Special level". Some trials replace Dante with Beyond, which is also 4 levels. The final region "Dante" only has 4 levels and does not have side branches, but has 2 optional special levels available. You can check what side branches are available and in what order at a Terminal, as well as Messages which can hint at what will come up in each branch. Each game, only 3 of the 4 are available, and which order they occur in is also random each time. Levels other than the first and last of a moon, and special levels, can have Level events.Įach moon has 4 possible side branches. There are alternative paths you can take to get through each moon called side branches, but the total length will always remain the same: Side branches are either 2 or 3 levels long, and taking the branch will skip the same number of main branch levels.
Jupiter hell wiki plus#
I think the developers are trying to make this the best game they possibly can.The levels of Jupiter Hell are divided into 4 main regions, or moons:Įach moon is 7 levels long, plus an optional special level. Some of the harder challenges are tied to a specific rank.Ĭurrently Jupiter Hell is my second most played game on steam and I still haven't explored many of the possible playstyles.īy the way, the game is still being worked upon and is getting regular updates. Completing challenges earns you military ranks. There are a lot of different challenges and trials, many of them requiring mastering a particular aspect of the game. More than once I died with an inventory filled with stuff that could easily have saved me if I had kept a cool head. Jupiter Hell can feel like an action game, triggering "Fight or Flight" reflexes. Levels are procedually generated, there are mutually exclusive side quests, a huge variety of unique items only a small selection of will be possible to get in any run, three character classes with multiple master traits.Īll too often your undoing is forgetting that this is a turn based game. Replayability is great, your first win is just the beginning of the journey. Presentation is stellar, combat is fun from the get go, but you will have to learn the mechanics if you want to be successful. Jupiter Hell manages to strike the perfect balance between accessibility and complexity. Easily one of the best games I ever played.
